Lovestrong - Christina Perri
The song I have chosen 'Jar of hearts' is from the collection Lovestrong by Christina Perri. As I emulated much of her style when constructing my product I think that taking some of the conventions of this album cover would be a good idea. I like the fact that it's in black and white with a simple font in the left hand corner, allowing for the artist to be the main focus point of the cover. As my music video is in black and white I'd like to continue this characteristic throughout into my digipack and magazine advertisement. I also like the idea of having a medium shot of the artist in casual clothes, although I may use a close up shot for my own product.

Identifiable conventions of music videos.
During the construction of my media product I chose to include close up shots of my artist singing which is a major convention of pop videos. This not only promotes the song itself but the artist and by dressing the artist in a certain way reflects the mood of the song. The editing usually matches the pace of the song, using various transitions which I also included and the lyrics reflect what is shown in the video. Similar to the pop music videos my product takes the form of performance, with the artist lip syncing the words to the song, with close ups to display emotions.
Although my chosen song is in the pop/piano rock genre it is unconventional as pop videos are usually bright, upbeat and fast paced, which is different to the slow, quite moody song 'jar of hearts'.

Health and safety considerations.
When considering health and safety for both me and my artist whilst filming I decided that the area in which I filmed had to be cleared of any debris that is commonly found in a park, such as twigs, leaves and perhaps rubbish in case one if us tripped over whilst walking.
During one of my shots the artist has to walk down a small incline, so I made sure that they were wearing sensible shoes so that they didn't slip and fall whilst not paying attention.

Examples of digipacks:
I like the idea of having the CD and DVD next to each other, with the consumer able to fold out and fold in each of the seperate parts. I also like the idea of having a simple picture of my artist on the inside cover, with a design on each of the disks so it's easily identifiable as my artist.

Examples of artist featured in a magazine advertisement:
This magazine advertisement features the artist LA ROUX and is promoting the release of her album. A close up shot is used to identify the artist and again promote her, with her image filling up the whole page. The use of the double page layout also connotes her importance as they have dedicated not one but two pages about her. The advert includes reviews and star ratings from various institutions and follows the quite warm colour scheme of red, orange and quite black colours throughout.
This advertisement features the artist Gwen Stefani and tells of the release of an album or single. By using a medium shot, the artist is the main feature point of the text and by blurring out the background it intesifys the picture of the artist and again makes them the focus point. Dressed in quite fashionable but orignal clothing, the audience would identify with Stefani's image and make her more accessible and easliy recognisable. As her look is so individual, the audience easily recognises her style.
The artist is holding a crown and a septre, which could connote being royal or being above or better than others. She also appears to be sat on a throne of sorts, again connoting the Queen image.
